This is a topic I am currently researching , so I can only provide you with what I somewhat understand.

Another possibility is the antenna plus a bi - directional rf amplifier tuned to support our 902- 928 Mhz frequency.
This would DRAMATICLY improve frequency. For example a handheld CB at 2 watts of output power can reach up to 2 miles.
